Dr. William Vantine (MPA '87), currently serves as Chairman, Board of Director, Sabre Systems, LLC; Chairman, Board of Directors, JANUS Research Corporation; and Board Member for Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) and several other companies and organizations. He previously served as the CEO and President of Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA), a billion dollar plus organization and one of the most prestigious data analysis and analytics firms in the world. During his tenure as CEO of SPA, SPA’s stock price increased over 2000% and the company was named the Government Contractor of the Year in 2022 as well as a Washington Post Top Workplace every year of his tenure (2016-2022).

Before joining SPA, Dr. Vantine served as the President and Chief Executive Officer, Los Alamos Technical Associates, and previously served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the ARES Corporation. Dr. Vantine began his career at NASA, where he held numerous program management positions. Dr. Vantine received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the George Washington University and his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. In addition to his Ph.D. dissertation, “Managing the Risk of Failure in Large Complex Systems,” Dr. Vantine is the author of more than 20 professional papers on risk management, software, data analysis, safety, and reliability.  He is also the author of numerous children’s books.

Dr. Vantine has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including being named the Department of Defense, Private Sector Executive of the Year (2021), Government Contractor, Executive of the Year (2019), the NASA Exceptional Service Medal (2 times), and a Silver Snoopy Awardee. He is a member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society, a former Presidential Management Fellow, a Wolcott Senior Fellow, and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
