Internships
Whether at the early stages of their careers or seeking a professional transition, Trachtenberg students frequently utilize internships as a means to integrate classroom knowledge, acquire essential professional skills, and expand their professional connections. While some students opt for full-time work, others choose to engage in internships either partially or throughout their time at the Trachtenberg School.
The Career Development Services at the Trachtenberg School provides guidance to students on how to tailor their internship experiences to align with their specific professional goals and leverage the vast network of employers and alumni. These experiences, most of which offer compensation, vary from securing a job offer through a single internship to exploring diverse opportunities in different fields during the initial year, or even juggling multiple internships each semester. Three times per year, students can apply to GW's Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund for grants ranging from $750 - $3000 for internships that are necessarily unpaid.

Fellowships
Fellowships are professional opportunities including full and part-time, paid positions (during graduate school or after) and unpaid leadership and training programs.
