Stephen Trachtenberg on Panel: The Diploma Dilemma

Students in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy & Public Administration and the community were invited to a panel discussion featuring President Emeritus Stephen J. Trachtenberg on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 6:30p.m. at the Newseum. The panel was entitled "The Diploma Dilemma: Exploring the Costs and Value of College Education."

The panel was moderated by Jim Tankersley, Economics Correspondent for The Washington Post and featured:

  • Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, President Emeritus and Professor at the George Washington University
  • Mike Rowe, Creator and Executive Producer of “Dirty Jobs” and CEO of mikeroweWORKS
  • Beth Akers, Fellow in the Brookings Institution’s Brown Center on Education Policy
  • Richard Vedder, Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Ohio University and Director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity
  • Robert Morse, Director of Data Research at U.S. News & World Report.
