Research Methods Coursework

The program requires the development of research skills alongside the core curriculum and field studies. These skills complement and support the research interests of students in their applied field of studies. All PhD students must complete an intermediate graduate-level 3-credit course in quantitative research methods (PPPA 6013). In addition, students complete a more advanced 3-credit course in quantitative methods (typically PPPA 6022) and a course in qualitative or mixed-methods research. Details about methods course options are available in the Doctoral Student Handbook.
