Rachel Krefetz Fyall, MPA ’06, recently accepted a teaching position in Public Administration at the University of Washington.  Fyall is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Affairs at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University (Bloomington). Her research area of focus is the intersection of the nonprofit and public sectors, especially in the area of social policy. Her dissertation, “The Influence of Nonprofit Organizations on the Formation and Delivery of Public Services,” uses the context of affordable housing to examine nonprofit advocacy and the way nonprofit organizations systematically shape the public services they provide. Fyall is looking forward to returning to Seattle’s beautiful environment and being part of its innovative nonprofit sector. She also looks forward to sharing lessons from her research with MPA students dedicated to careers in nonprofit management.
