Dr. Gregory Squires recently edited a book with Marc Raskin, which was published in 2012: Welfare Warfare: The Not-So-Hidden Costs of America's Permanent War Economy. This book deals with the domestic and international effects of America’s perpetual state of war. The publisher, Potomac Books, calls the book a thought-provoking, forward-thinking contribution concerning America’s future at home and abroad. According to the authors, “we need to restore war to its rightful place as truly a last resort, and not the normal state of the nation. This is why we need to begin to build an alternative to the warfare welfare state of America.”
