Length of Degree and Completion Rates

The Trachtenberg School's MPP, MPA, PhD and Certificate programs can be completed full- or part-time, as the majority of courses take place in the evenings. This enables students to maintain/acquire a full time job or internship and provides the flexibility for students to intentionally change between the two.

Full-time students typically complete their MPA or MPP in two years. Part-time students complete their MPA or MPP in three to four years. Students must complete the MPA or MPP degree within four years.

Students who enter the MPA and MPP have a high completion rate. The chart below demonstrates the graduation rates of full- and part-time students for the past five cohorts. These statistics do not separate full-time vs. part-time students. They represent all students that began in a particular cohort. Overall, 95% of students who begin the program successfully graduate.
