Alumni and Teaching Award Winners Announced

The George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy & Public Administration announced the winners of this year's Outstanding Alumni and Outstanding Teaching awards. This year's honorees consistently live out the school’s goal of “doing good and doing it well” and were nominated by students, faculty and alumni of the school.

The winners will be recognized during the school's annual Awards Networking Reception on Friday, February 27, from 6-8pm in the City View Room at the George Washington University in a networking reception open to Trachtenberg School faculty, students, alumni and Advisory Board members.

Attendees are encouraged to reconnect with one another, celebrate the Trachtenberg School’s success and help recognize this year’s:

  • Trachtenberg School Distinguished Alumni Award Winner – Cynthia Pierre, PhD ’06,  Chief Operating Officer for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
  • Trachtenberg School Outstanding Recent Alumni Award Winner – Kara Ryan, MPP ’07, Senior Program Manager at CommonHealth ACTION
  • Trachtenberg School Outstanding Teaching Award Winners — Dr. Stephanie Riegg Cellini (Full-Time), Dr. Howard Smith, PhD '07, (Part-Time) and Melissa McShea (Teaching Assistant)
