2019 New Student Orientation

Welcome New Students!

Orientation to the Trachtenberg School begins August 21. Please see the schedule of events listed below.

Please Note: PhD students will be sent a PhD specific agenda for Thursday, August 22, programming. We invite all incoming PhD students to join us in as many components of our programming and workshops as possible.

Reminder: Additionally, as an incoming student, you are asked to join the faculty in reading or listening to Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People by Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald. There will be a discussion of the book during the Thursday, August 22, orientation session and the book will be referenced during your time in the program.

If you prefer to listen to your summer reading, you can find a podcast that summarizes it well here: https://www.npr.org/2018/03/09/591895426/the-mind-of-the-village-understanding-our-implicit-biases
